More than just a place to stay. We are a proud family-run business where hospitality comes first. Our story also goes back many decades – from a small inn to the wellness hotel you see today. What matters most to us is that the family spirit that shapes the character of our establishment also includes our guests. And that is something you can truly feel.

1955 - 1985

1955: Our story begins in 1955 – Johann Kathrein Senior and his wife Maria built a farmhouse where they lived with their five children.
1963: Johann Kathrein Sr. founded the second inn in Fiss after the Gasthof Lamm.
1969: The “Blaulicht” bar opened. For many years it was well known even as far as Innsbruck.
1972: The building was extended from two to three storeys.
1981: The hotel was handed over to Johann Kathrein Jr. and his wife Brigitte.
1982: The building was extended from three to four storeys.
1984: The “Blaulicht” bar was closed and the hall was added.
1985: The property was converted into a hotel.

1993 - 2003

1993: 30^th anniversary of the business.
1994: Addition of the lift and the bar.
2000: A new beauty treatment room was created.
2001: Renovation of the rooms on the fourth floor.
2003: Renewal of the balconies and the façade.
2003: 40^th anniversary of the business.

2004 - 2014

2004: Renovation of the rooms on the third floor.
2006: Renovation of the reception and the bar.
2007: Renovation of the bathrooms on the first and second floors.
2008: The dining room and corridors were renovated.
2009: Minor renovation work.
2010: Minor renovation work.
2011: The wellness area with sauna and steam room was refurbished.
2012: Minor renovation work (car park).
2013: Renewal of the cellar with boiler room, toilet facilities and ski room with ski lockers.
2014: Further minor renovation work and the handover from Brigitte Kathrein to her daughter Viktoria.
